Sytske Casimir
Working at the intersection of change, leadership and organisational development, Sytske focuses on building capability for development in leaders, teams and organisations. She invites leaders to notice and make sense of patterns that may have remained unseen so far and to explore the choices they have to respond.
Sytske has worked in and with multinational organisations in areas as varied as recruitment, strategic HR Business Partnering, Change, and Leadership & Organisational Development. Her most recent role was as Head of Organisational Development in EnergyAustralia. Her varied experience enables her to quickly find her place in new systems.
Sytske has designed and led leadership and change interventions across 6 continents, in 4 languages and with people of more than 50 nationalities.
She has learned from experience how important it is to work with the DNA of an organisation: what works somewhere, doesn’t work everywhere – and the people who work in an organisation are best placed to figure out what works there. Her role as the outsider is to shine a light on what is happening and to create a space and time to think.
Sytske is a certified Global Leadership Coach and has been drawing on the concept of adult development in her approach since 2007. She has studied and worked with various thought leaders in the field of change, OD and leadership. She has an MA in Organizational Analysis from the Grubb Institute in London. Sytske believes that working in the field of Organisational Development asks us to develop ourselves. Transforming an organisation can be complex and painful, challenging, exhilarating and joyful all at the same time. It takes attention to acknowledge all those realities for everyone involved. This is why the work of transforming organisations asks us to transform our own attention. Apart from continued development, the practices that sustain Sytske’s attention include learning from her horses, strength training, a meditation practice and photography.
